Faye Short – Story By: Savannah Houston-McIntyre – Linework by: Amanda Coronado – Colours by: Cari Corene
Early update, enjoy!
PRINCE VINCENT. <3 <3 <3 <3
Yep! But he’s not a prince. ;) (Though he might be in Cari’s eyes. :P )
Not just in my eyes. o3o
I love you, Cari dear. <3
Vincent… As in the Vincent who kidnaps her and Accel? Small world. Does she make a habit of encountering him when she’s lost in the city?
… no fricking way… No way…
Holy hell I see it now.
AMAZING job, you two.
Is that really Vincent? Interesting if they had met before…
It’s dark? How friggin’ long has Faye been waiting? Dammit, Amelia.
Love how she’s got stuffed-Rain signing yes at the same time she does. Crazy adorable!
I bet Amelia is back home already. No regard for responsibilities…I don’t care if she’s a child, she never should have left her sister alone.
I just felt myself let a breath out. Then another breath got taken in when I figured out who he was. Update! Update! *Click* Nope. *Click* Nope. *Click* Nope.
*Click* Wait something’s loading! Nevermind, accidentally clicked previous button.
Vincent? Who’s that again?
Senpai is beautiful and and very observant! <3
Fiction aside, the reality is that Faye most likely wouldn’t have been spotted. The question of why Vincent was there in the first place is ever so present in my mind, as well as an episode of “What Would You Do” which I managed to get a link to.
Yeesh, tough crowd. :P
I apologize, I often look at these sort of situations more realistically, especially of it involves something I enjoy reading
I grew up during “Stranger Danger” in the 80s. Any adult was a threat that was going to snatch you up from the street and put you on a hook so you could be used as a lure for shark fishing, or else you were going to end up being sacrificed to the devil by ravenous lesbians and uber-sassy homosexual men. Our area sadly was one of the ones where the satanic panic thing happened in the US.
And that video, I see it a lot even where I live. Mostly because people are terrified of ending up on a watchlist or getting lynched for even being in the area of a child. They might call a cop instead of helping out at least.
That’s crazy. I’ve stopped to ask children if they need help before- and have assisted them when needed. When I was a child I often had people ask me if I needed help (As I guess I often looked in distress.) I wonder how much location and community have to do with it.
Regardless, on the next page Vincent is going to compare Faye to his younger sister, remarking they are of similar age. He noticed because he is far from home, and a sobbing little girl reminded him of the family he can no longer see.
Sobbing means to cry noisily and since Faye is incapable of and form of speech….ya know, I’m just gonna shut up and let you do your magic
And yes, environment means EVERYTHING. A lost kid crying their eyes out in the busy sidewalks of New York would less likely be noticed than a crying child in a smaller city. Speaking from experience, most people who have an agenda prefer to follow that agenda on time. The only time someone will get noticed is if they are bleeding or have some kind of weapon and neither are pretty to come across. Emphasis on the bleeding part too. Unless your clothes are red and you are clutching the wound, chances are you won’t get noticed. I’ve seen the darker side of humanity more than I wanted to and it’s one of the reasons why I enjoy fiction: I can escape the reality of the world
So this occurs not real long after the Vinnie short story that followed chapter 3? Maybe within just a few years, I’m guessing.
Not everyone is in the same position.
I’m not *just* uncomfortable around children on account of being a loner and a guy, but having grown up in America I’ve been conditioned to expect to get peppersprayed and/or ambushed by journalists whenever some random kid runs up to me in public.
…except if I’m in a party with a female cleric (metaphor!) but in that case I’d make her deal with it anyway.
Cari, I love your work, and I love Toilet Genie a lot. But I so wanna take that crown and beat his face in.
YESSS, FLOWER VINCENT HUSBANDO HAS ARRIVED
This killed me while reviewing the preflight.
haha! I tried really hard to make Flower Vincent Husbando as over the top as possible! XD
He is beautiful <33
Also your design for Amelia is awesome, it makes me excited to draw her all grown up if she comes into the story later! AND ALL THE LOVE for cute-overload Faye, and dashing Vincent.
Oh yes, oh yes… she will be in the story later. :3
ERHAMGERD!!! YES!!!! Rebecca, I can’t wait to see how you draw her all grown up! I think Amelia might be one of my favorite characters now…ha! XD
I sincerely hope she has learned how to be more responsible. If not, then please let her get a slap on the cheek by someone because it would be well deserved in my opinion
I was completely not expecting the panel that Amanda drew, but when I saw it the only option was to paint it pastel pink. <3
She gave you quite a gift. XD
Well, time to reread the first few chapters to see if either of them have any hint to this past meeting.
http://www.amyachronicles.com/archives/comic/1-19 <- Vincent knew her name, but there aren't any hints aside from that. Faye was too little to remember him after so many years.
Little Faye: Friend get! New ability gained: ask for assistance. Would you like to forget an old ability to make room for this new ability?
stop learning ask for assistance?
Are you sure?
I won’t lie, that joke was fairly clever
