“Up for a trip, Lenna?”
Poor Faye! She just keeps getting more injuries. Oh, question! What is Kaden doing in that last panel? I can’t quite tell. Keep up the excellent work!
He’s wrapping the bandages around Faye’s arms. :)
Many, many bandages indeed!
Is Silenna meant to be an Elf? (Er, I mean half-Elf?)
She certainly has a… peculiar fashion sense. ;)
Lenna’s fashion sense is one of my favorite aspects of her character. The standard ranger ensemble of a cloak of Elvin-kind over +2 studded leather armor over green woodsman’s tights is way too ‘Classic D&D.’ But a traveler’s cloak over a tabard over banded mail over that frilled skirt totally breaks through the paradigm.
Plus, she carries a satchel–satchels are awesome. I’ll fight any man who suggests otherwise.
Thank you for defending Lenna’s fashion honor! :B
This is gonna be interesting… And he didn’t finish what he was gonna say even though we already know what he’s gonna say!!!
You know, I never noticed how pointy everyone’s ears were until this page. Well, everyone other than Accel, Faye and Kaden, anyways.
That’s because they’re half-elves.
They said they’re a group who’re working to improve the reputation of half-elves right when we first met them!
‘Our group’s really just part of a bigger one; working to better the status of half-elves in Amya.’
Obviously there’s gonna be a lot of half-elves in the group c:
Sure, but that doesn’t mean humans can’t be nosy busybodies either.
Of the group, Will and Felix were the only humans. All the others were half-elves. :)
That’s… amazingly generous of them. I mean, the resistance is already short their caster since Felix went Benedict Arnold on them. Giving up a ranger has to leave them terribly short handed.
Not that I’m complaining, mind you. Lenna strikes me as being of the awesome persuasion, and she has my favorite adventurer costume so far in this comic. I’m not sure I’d rank her as high as Hanners from Questionable Content on my list of favorite webcomic heroines, but I think I might have a place for her amongst Agatha of Girl Genius or Sasha and Zoe of Sluggy Freelance.
They’re probably just going to go back to the main group. They said when we first met them that they’re part of a bigger group, so I imagine if they’re willing to lose those two the group’s big enough for them to just simply regroup.
Be that as it may, it’s still amazingly generous. Had Lenna personally volunteered to accompany their group, the implications would have been entirely different. It could have meant that she sympathizes with our heroes or that she wants another shot at Felix or even that she digs dudes with glasses. Instead it’s Angie who volunteers her, which to me implies that their organization has more at stake in our heroes’ success than what they’re letting on.
I realize that there’s a war that needs circumventing here, but I feel like it’d be naive of them to think that returning Faye safe and sound is all it will take to chill out two powerful and hot-headed nations. It’s particularly gutsy, considering that by associating one of their members with the missing noble girl, they’ve risked making their entire organization a target in the eyes of said powerful and hot-headed nations.
For a guy with an undergraduate certificate in technical writing, I sure get long winded in some of these posts…
Yes – but we love all your posts! Especially the long winded ones. :)
Heh. Thank you. I worry that when I get long-winded, I sound like I’m trying to show off how smart I am. When really, it’s more along the lines of thinking out loud.
There could be many reasons why they are volunteering Lenna. It was Felix who played up the need to return her to prevent the war, which Angie and Jon were not present for, so their motivation could be seperate. If their agenda is to better the status of their race in the world- helping a lost Noble find her way home is a start. Perhaps not one with a significant impact and one that could backfire terribly… but it is a start.
I really do love your comic guys <3
I missed Accel, it's going to be fun with him back /o/
Thank you Harrie! It’s great to know that you are enjoying the comic, and are happy to see Accel back. He’s certainly a comic light shining through the dark and serious bits. I promise it’s only going to get more fun from here. :)
Who’s the pissed-looking girl on the right edge of the last panel? o_o
Just another person in their group – she was also on this page: http://www.amyachronicles.com/archives/4175 And mentioned by name off-panel near the beginning of the chapter!
Hmm, If I was a shipper (and I am) , I’d say Faye isn’t going to like Lenna tagging along with them.
I’ve been liking Lenna more and more as this chapter has gone on. Glad to know she’ll be sticking around for the immediate future. ^__^
As to the speculations about Mara’s motivation: it could simply be a matter of honor. Felix is (was) one of them. His misdeeds are, to some extent, their responsibility to correct. Sending Lenna as an escort gives Mara peace of mind that she’s not just abandoning Faye to Felix’s next kidnapping attempt, while not depleting their numbers so much that their bigger mission will be hampered.
Of course, there COULD be more to it. I’m just saying there doesn’t have to be.
That blond lady seems to hate the idea of eating on the run, thanks to that dirty look she’s giving Accel.
Is that a tear or a bandage on Faye’s face? Sorry, I’m a touch blind without my glasses. *-*
I love how what’s her face is giving them all the stink-eye in that last panel. There’s definitely something suspicious about her …
