Accel continues to glare at Vincent; showdown style, almost.
VINCENT: Well?
VINCENT: I would prefer you to be alive, but really, I can do this either way...
Panel 2.
Accel raises his hands with his palms facing inward; as if pleading. However, he is actually casting a 'Charm spell'.
ACCEL: All right, you got me. I'll come with you and do anything you ask.
ACCEL: I just don't want her to get hurt.
Panel 3.
Vincent seems to fall for it; starting to move the gun away from Faye's temple. She eyes the pistol watchfully.
Panel 4.
Vincent seems to shake off the effect and almost shoves the nozzle of the gun back against Faye's temple. She seems to cringe with pain.
VINCENT: That'll cost you.
VINCENT: I hate this sort of contract. Spelltouched all thinking you're clever.
Panel 5.
Accel glances towards the table Vincent speaks of.
VINCENT: There is a flask of liquid on the table over there. Go and get it.
VINCENT: Slowly.

Aww…and I was hopping the little magic trick would at least daze him for a few seconds. Hopefully the bottle is only to ,make him sleep, and not anything toxic.
Dang, he made his Will save.
I like it when writers make it clear that the “Jedi mind trick” (or whatever it’s called in their world) is not an auto-win, not even when you “need” it to be.
That is not the smiley I wanted. Anyway, I also liked how Accel was able to disguise the “handwave” component for the spell. Quite clever of him.
